Located at in the remote cirque of Mafatethe Trois Roches waterfall is an impressive waterfall that spills over a wide basin surrounded by basalt rocks. This site is particularly popular with hikers crossing Mafateoffering a spectacular setting for a well-deserved break.


Around the waterfall, hikers can explore the paths leading to the islets of Mafate, such as Marla or La Nouvelle. Access is only possible on foot via the cirque's hiking trails, starting from Marla or La Nouvelle (around a 2-hour walk).

The Takamaka and Niagara waterfalls, to the east of the island

Located in Sainte-Rose, on the south-east coast of Réunion, l'Anse des Cascades is a unique natural site where several small waterfalls cascade into the Indian Ocean. This enchanting spot is ideal for a seaside stroll under coconut palms and filaos, with picnic areas provided.

Visitors can also discover the small traditional fishing port and explore the surrounding area towards the church of Notre-Dame-des-Laves. Accessible by car via the RN2, l'Anse des Cascades has a car park and footpaths making it easy to explore.

The Langevin waterfall: the jewel of the Sud Sauvage

La Langevin waterfallalso known as Grand Galet, est l'une des plus visitées de l'île. Located on the Langevin River, in Saint-Joseph (south of the island) It offers an idyllic setting where coolness and serenity come together. Its natural pools are perfect for a dip after a lovely walk along the river.

This waterfall is easily accessible by car (route D33 depuis Saint-Joseph), ce qui en fait une excursion populaire pour les familles et les groupes d'amis. Les tables de pique-nique disséminées autour permettent de prolonger la visite autour d'un déjeuner convivial en pleine nature.
